Want to just 'dip your toe and have a go', or already done a bit of acting and want to go that bit further? Sioux creates a dynamic, positive and fun environment for students to learn and excel in. Everyone from absolute beginners to people with a little more experience will find these classes invaluable. They are especially useful for experience in Stage, Film and TV acting. Fantastic for building confidence, self esteem, and presentation skills, classes are wonderful escapism from life's pressures. Tap into your creative side while learning how to act. People can join these classes at anytime during the term as each class is a self contained unit.

Classes are a dynamic blend of: Imagination, Improvisation, Scriptwork, Voice, Characterisation, Movement, Role play, Stage Etiquette, Ensemble Work, Public Speaking, Auditioning Skills and Confidence Building Exercises.

Start Dates and Details for General Acting Classes

Monday (6 week class)

• Start Date: Monday 30 January, 2012 (7 - 8.30pm)
• Fee: $105
• Venue: All Saint's Anglican Church, 187 Hinemoa Street, Birkenhead.

Tuesday (8 week class)

• Start Date: Tuesday 14 February, 2012 (7 - 8.30pm)
• Fee: $130
• Venue: Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Road, Grey Lynn.

'ON STAGE' Showcase Performance Class

An absolute must for those who have a passion to perform on stage! Learn all the skills necessary to create memorable and dynamic characters on stage. These classes are also invaluable for people wanting to take their auditoning or Fillm and TV acting skills to the next level! Over eight weeks (which includes two Saturdays) we will work just like a theatre company in rehearsal, on short scripted and devised pieces. It all ends with a exciting and unforgettable showcase performance on stage at the Rose Theatre, Belmont.

'ON STAGE 1' (8 Weeks)

• Start Date: Wednesday 25 July, 2012 (7 - 9pm)
• Actual Performance Date: Friday 14 September, 2012
• Fee: $195 + $25 for Hire of Rose Theatre for Showcase
• Venue: St.Margaret's Church Hall, Belmont.

'ON STAGE 2' (8 Weeks)

• Start Date: Wednesday 3 October, 2012 (7 - 9pm)
• Actual Performance Date: Wednesday 28 November, 2012
• Fee: $195 + $25 for Hire of Rose Theatre for Showcase
• Venue: St. Margaret's Church Hall, Belmont.
